The purpose of the development of this equipment is to provide an additional warning system for the presence of voltage when working on electrical installations. Electricians who turn off the transformer substation make the following mistakes:
- 1. In cases where, at the time of disconnection, the support insulators broke at the disconnectors and the knives of the damaged phase did not come out of the jaws, the electricians, not noticing the breakage (defects), paid attention only to the position of the handle and did not find the knife not disconnected.
- 2. In cases where previously identified malfunctions in individual phases of the disconnectors (burning of contacts, etc.) were not eliminated in a timely manner, and the knives of the disconnectors of these phases were shunted, electricians performing operations, not knowing about the installation of jumpers, mistakenly believed that from sections of overhead lines and TP after the disconnectors, the voltage is removed.

Support insulators 6/10kV with a built-in capacitive divider are mounted instead of standard support insulators in switchgear - 6-10kV. The display unit is installed on the front of the transformer substation. A flashing indicator indicates a malfunction (non-disconnection of a phase) of a 10 kV switching device or other equipment, or the presence of shunt jumpers on switching devices (broken conductors that briefly supply voltage to de-energized sections of the network), if voltage remains on the disconnected PTS after performing operational switching, about which signals the glow of the display elements and an accompanying sound signal when the door is opened. The voltage presence indicator does not need additional power.

The use of light and sound indication (alarm) allows you to make one more, additional warning to the personnel about the danger present in the TS, despite the confidence that the employee has no voltage after the operations to disconnect the equipment.
